As founder of Skala Earth Works, Plants, Patios, and Walls, I seek to fulfill my purpose as a helper to the natural world. My parents taught me my trade. My father studies earth-sheltered homes and builds beautiful rock gardens. My mother practices native gardening and landscape design. My family shares gardening and business experiences on a daily basis. You might see my mom or dad at your job site.
Our family name Skala goes back generations to Eastern Europe. Its pronounced with an “Ah” like the sound you make at the dentist. Our family was and is connected to the land, trees, rocks, and water. My Skala spirit lives in every project we undertake.
